Conduit Gallery is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of video and drawing work by St. Paul, MN based artist Chris Larson.
Chris Larson’s video Heavy Rotation was created for a solo exhibition and inspired by The View Contemporary Art Space in Salenstein, Switzerland, a circular concrete slab above a former underground reservoir. The video is a 15 minute look into the artist at work in the studio. The activity mirrors both the physicality of process and psychological journey embedded in art making with both actions leading to surprising locations. The video was screened as a part of the 2014 Whitney Biennial and is currently on view in the State of the Art exhibition at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas where it has been added to the museum’s permanent collection. Heavy Rotation is also included in the permanent collection of the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
