Prairie Notes
Ellen George
Vancouver, Washington artist Ellen George’s sculptural installation Prairie Notes will be her third in Conduit Gallery’s Project Room. Drawing inspiration from the landscape and light, in the area where she spent summers during her childhood, her biomorphic elements are hand formed in polymer. The arrangements are composed of diminutive sculptures placed in variations of pattern and order.
"My remembered prairie spans summertime on the family place in Hunt County, Texas - exploring the old abandoned school house on the far edge of Granddad's farm. And autumn ...warming by the open flame space heater, mushrooming on the Red River. Images of the time spent there long ago, these are the deep roots of Prairie Notes." Ellen George, November 2010
