From the Last Timeline

Justin Quinn

Drawn from a period of significant personal and artistic transformation, Quinn’s work traverses the boundaries of the seen and unseen, the mystical and the material. With a practice rooted in repetition and ritual, the artist creates compositions that pulse with quiet intensity—visual fields shaped by intuitive processes and symbolic language.

“Because my current studio work is in flux and feels incomplete,” Quinn writes, “I have in mind a series of works roughly from 2019 to 2024. The work comes from a place of spirituality and mysticism where materials are moved in ritualistic processes. These drawings and paintings explore a shifting sense of time and reality; as if what was thought to be known is hidden. There is an element of magic here.”

Known for his intricate mark-making and formal rigor, Quinn often draws inspiration from literature, spiritual traditions, and the natural world. His earlier work has famously employed the letter "E"—drawn repeatedly to form rhythmic fields that collapse language into texture. In Hidden Time, that sensibility expands into new visual vocabularies that feel both ancient and future-facing, grounded and otherworldly.

Justin Quinn lives and works in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and is held in numerous private and public collections.
