Marco Querin

Conduit Gallery is honored to announce the second solo exhibition of work by Italian-born Indianapolis-based textile artist Marco Querin.

Growing up in the design and fashion immersed city of Milan, Italy, Marco Querin was often mesmerized by the way the light cast rays across his home’s furnishing and rugs. The colors and textures would break up, creating new structures and visuals for contemplation. With immigration to the US bringing a life of much change, Querin has long been intrigued by actions that can be controlled in the face of unpredictability. Extroverting the traditional canvas through various textiles - cottons, silks, wools, ropes, synthetics – Querin manifests this control through the precise execution of his fiber-based compositions of color field and geometric design.
